Heavy Duty Ceiling Fan Speed Control - I wondered why the older ceiling fans did not get a reverse button. The people that designed those fans, just too ignorant to think about used reverse in winter?
Until the temperature is comfortable at the low levels of the rooms, the heat unit runs. However, by the time this occurs, it will be very hot at the ceiling level.
However, what if there was a way to get this hot air down to the low levels, off the ceiling where we live. The heat unit wouldn't have to work long as well as the savings on our utility bill could be substantial. This mix would essentially equalize the temperature at floor and ceiling levels, meaning the heat wouldn't be wasted keeping the ceilings warm.
But then someone said that the draft made by the ceiling fans could be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let us just turn the ceiling fans and let the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it will go flat in all directions until it hits the walls. Until it hits the floor, then it'll come down vertically. Now it then back up to the ceiling fan and will go, at floor level, back in toward the middle of the room.
