Ceiling Fan Remote Control - What exactly is the reason for having a reverse button on ceiling fans? I wondered why the ceiling fans that were older did not get a reverse button. Were the individuals who designed those fans, simply too dumb to think of using inverse in winter?
The heating unit runs until the temperature is comfortable at the low levels of the rooms. But by the time this happens, it will be quite hot at the ceiling level.
But imagine if there was a solution to get this hot air down to the low levels, off the ceiling where we dwell. The heating unit wouldn't need to work as long and also the savings on our utility bill may be substantial. This mix would basically equalize the temperature at ceiling and floor levels, meaning the heat wouldn't be wasted keeping the ceilings warm.
But someone said that the draft made by the ceiling fans could be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let's simply turn the ceiling fans and let the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it is going to go flat in all ways until it hits the walls. Until it hits the floor, then it'll come down vertically. Now it'll go, at floor level, back in toward the center of the room and then back up to the ceiling fan.
