Conveyor Belt Ceiling Fans - What exactly is the reason for having a reverse button on ceiling fans? I always wondered why the older ceiling fans didn't get a reverse button. The individuals who designed those fans, just too ignorant to think about used inverse in winter?
The heating unit runs before the temperature is comfortable at the low amounts of the rooms. However, from the time this occurs, it will be quite hot at the ceiling level.
However, what if there was a strategy to get this hot air down to the low levels, off the ceiling where we dwell. The heating unit would not have to work long and the savings on our utility bill might be substantial. The temperature would basically equalize at ceiling and floor levels, which means that the heat would not be squandered keeping the ceilings warm.
But someone said the draft produced by the ceiling fans will be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let us just turn the ceiling fans and allow the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it is going to go horizontal in all ways until it hits the walls. Afterward it'll come down vertically until it hits on the floor. Now it then back up to the ceiling fan and will travel, toward the middle of the room, back in at floor level.
