Hunter Ceiling Fan Lighting - What is the reason for having a reverse button on ceiling fans? I always wondered why the older ceiling fans did not get a reverse button. The people that designed those fans, simply too stupid to think of used inverse in winter?
The heating unit runs until the temperature is comfortable at the reduced amounts of the rooms. However, by the time this occurs, it will be quite hot at the ceiling level.
However, imagine if there clearly was a method to get this hot air down to the lower levels, off the ceiling where we dwell. The heating unit wouldn't need to work as long and the savings on our utility bill might be considerable. The temperature would basically equalize at ceiling and floor levels, meaning that the heat wouldn't be squandered keeping the ceilings warm.
But someone said that the draft produced by the ceiling fans will be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let us simply turn the ceiling fans and let the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it is going to go flat in most ways until it hits the walls. Afterward it'll come down until it hits the floor. Now it is going to go back in toward the centre of the room and then back up to the ceiling fan.
