Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Amps - What is the reason for having a reverse button on ceiling fans? I always wondered why the ceiling fans that were older did not have a reverse button. Were the people who designed those fans, simply too stupid to think about using inverse in winter?
The heat unit runs before the temperature is comfortable at the reduced amounts of the rooms. However, from the time this happens, it will be very hot at the ceiling level.
However, what if there clearly was a method to get this hot air down to the lower levels where we live. The heat unit would not need to work long and also the savings on our utility bill might be significant. This mix would basically equalize the temperature at ceiling and floor levels, which means that the heat would not be wasted keeping the ceilings warm.
But someone said the draft created by the ceiling fans could be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let us simply turn the ceiling fans and let the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it is going to go horizontal in all ways until it hits the walls. Then it's going to come down until it hits on the floor. Now it then back up to the ceiling fan and will travel back in toward the centre of the room.
