Ceiling Fan Downrod Length Angled Ceiling - I always wondered why the older ceiling fans did not have a reverse button. The people who designed those fans, just too stupid to think of used reverse in winter?
During winter, when you utilize the central heating system, the warm air coming out of the registers, in each room, will naturally rise and because the registers are up high already, the hot air will build in the ceiling level and slowly work its way down toward floor amount. The heating unit runs until the temperature is comfortable at the low levels of the rooms. But by the time this occurs, it'll be quite hot in the ceiling level.
But what if there was a solution to get this hot air down to the low levels, off the ceiling where we live. The heating unit would not need to work as long and the savings on our utility bill could be considerable. This mix would basically equalize the temperature at ceiling and floor levels, which means that the heat would not be squandered keeping the ceilings warm.
But then someone said that the draft created by the ceiling fans will be too much for winter months. Until it hits on the floor, afterward it's going to come down vertically. Now it will go, at floor level, back in toward the centre of the room and then back up to the ceiling fan.
