Southwestern Ceiling Fan Shades - I always wondered why the older ceiling fans didn't get a reverse button. Were the individuals who designed those fans, only too dumb to think about using reverse in winter?
Until the temperature is comfortable at the low levels of the rooms, the heat unit runs. However, by the time this occurs, it will be quite hot in the ceiling level.
However, imagine if there was a way to get this hot air down to the low levels where we live. The heat unit would not have to work as long as well as the savings on our utility bill might be substantial. The temperature would essentially equalize at floor and ceiling levels, which means that the heat would not be squandered keeping the ceilings warm.
But someone said the draft made by the ceiling fans will be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let us only turn the ceiling fans and let the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it'll go flat in most ways until it hits the walls. Until it hits the floor, then it will come down vertically. Now it then back up to the ceiling fan and will go back in toward the centre of the area.
