Kitchen Ceiling Fans With Bright Lights - What exactly is the reason for having a reverse button on ceiling fans? I wondered why the older ceiling fans didn't have a reverse button. Were the individuals who designed those fans, just too ignorant to consider using inverse in winter?
The heat unit runs until the temperature is comfortable at the lower levels of the rooms. However, from the time this happens, it will be very hot at the ceiling level.
However, imagine if there was a solution to get this hot air down to the low levels where we reside. The heat unit would not need to work as long and the savings on our utility bill may be substantial. This mixing would essentially equalize the temperature at floor and ceiling levels, which means that the heat would not be wasted keeping the ceilings warm.
But then someone said the draft created by the ceiling fans will be too much for winter months. Until it hits the floor, afterward it'll come down vertically. Now it's going to go, toward the centre of the area, back in at floor level and then back up to the ceiling fan.
