Outdoor Ceiling Fan With Light White - What is the reason for having a reverse button on ceiling fans? I always wondered why the ceiling fans that were older didn't have a reverse button. Were the individuals who designed those fans, only too ignorant to think about using inverse in winter?
The heating unit runs until the temperature is comfortable at the low amounts of the rooms. However, by the time this happens, it will be very hot at the ceiling level.
However, imagine if there is a strategy to get this hot air down to the low levels, off the ceiling where we live. The heating unit wouldn't have to work long as well as the savings on our utility bill may be significant. The temperature would basically equalize at floor and ceiling levels, meaning that the heat wouldn't be wasted keeping the ceilings warm.
But then someone said that the draft made by the ceiling fans could be too much for winter months. So someone else said "well, let us only turn the ceiling fans and allow the air blow up until it hits the ceiling and then it is going to go flat in all directions until it hits the walls. Afterward it's going to come down until it hits the floor. Now it's going to go back in toward the center of the area and then back up to the ceiling fan.
